Stunning local walks

Whether you would like a short stroll or a day-long trek, you can begin your adventure from Rockfield House's own back garden!

A few short walks

A gate from the decking at the rear of the apartments takes you straight onto the beautiful land which surrounds Woolacombe. You can go onto the historic Donkey Path which takes you up the Combesgate Valley to Twitchen and beyond to Mortehoe or turn right to climbe Black Cloud Hill and enjoy stunning views.

From Woolacombe, you can climb Potter's Hill or walk the stunning dunes which are behind Woolacombe Beach.

Walking the length of Woolacombe Beach takes you to Putsborough where you can buy refreshments from the beachside cafe. At a reasonable pace, it will take between 45 minutes and an hour to get there.

Or walk to Morte Point from the coast road, the countryside is ruggedly spectacular and the sea views are second-to-none.

Longer treks

The South West Coast Path runs along the coast right through Woolacombe. Take a right and it will take you to Morte Point, the seclusion of Rockham Bay beach, the lighthouse at Bull Point and onto Beautiful Lee Bay and Iflracombe.

Turn left and after walking along the dunes or the beach, you will come to Croyde and then the stunning Saunton Beach, Crow Point and Instow.

And we haven't even started on the walks inland which are too numerous to mention here! North Devon is a fantastic place to explore!
