Following the heavy winter storms in 2014, this beautiful rocky, shingle & sand beach has been off limits to all but the most daring. Certainly without access for those with dogs. The storms of 2013 and 2014 washed away the steps leading down to this treasure.
In 2016, the National Trust have rebuilt and strengthened the steps and access way to the beach.
The bay is mainly a mixture of vertical rock formations that look like they were designed for wrecking ships, and sand with rock pools begging to be explored. At low tide there is a fine sandy area. It is worth a visit at any time of the year, in winter it can be an amazing wild place you are likely to have all to yourselves.
There are no dog restrictions on Rockham Bay.
